These terms apply to Memories Fix (memories.chou-xiang.com) and its tools. By using the site you agree to them. They are written to be short and plain; if anything is unclear, ask us before buying.
What the service is
Memories Fix provides two tools that run in your web browser:
- the Snapchat Memories fixer, which writes the capture date and location from a Snapchat My Data export into the photos and videos, and
- the Google Takeout metadata fixer, which writes the date taken, location and description from Google Photos Takeout JSON files into the photos and videos.
All processing happens on your own device. Your files are not uploaded to us and we never see them. You need the export files yourself; the tools do not log in to Snapchat or Google and do not download anything from your accounts. What each tool writes, and which file formats it supports, is described on its page; files it cannot match or does not support are kept unchanged and listed in the report.
Free use
Each tool can be used for free for up to 200 files. The free allowance is counted per tool in your browser.
Paid license
- A license costs $9, paid once. There is no subscription and no account.
- One license unlocks unlimited files in both tools on this site: the Snapchat Memories fixer and the Google Takeout metadata fixer.
- The license is delivered as a license key. You activate it in the tool; the key is stored in your browser. If you clear your browser data or use another browser or device, enter the key again.
- The license is for your personal use. Please do not share or resell your key.
- Until the paid license is on sale, only the free version is available.
Payments
Payments are processed by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record for these sales. Creem handles the checkout, payment details, invoices and applicable sales tax or VAT. We do not receive or store your card details. Creem's own terms apply to the payment.
Refunds
If the tool does not work for your export, you can get a refund within 14 days of purchase. See the refund policy.
Your files and your responsibility
The tools create new, fixed copies and do not change the export files you drop in. Keep your original export until you have checked the result. You are responsible for having the right to process the files you use with the tools.
No warranty
The tools are provided "as is". We work to make them accurate and test them, but we cannot guarantee that every export, file format or photo app will behave as expected, or that the service will always be available.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from the use of the site. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the license. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
Not affiliated
Memories Fix is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Snap Inc. or Google. Snapchat is a trademark of Snap Inc. Google, Google Photos and Google Takeout are trademarks of Google LLC.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current version is always on this page. A license you have already bought keeps working as described when you bought it.
