Your memories never leave your device. Memories Fix opens your export ZIP files (from Snapchat or Google Takeout), reads the dates and locations and writes the fixed files with code that runs inside your browser. Photos, videos, file names, dates and locations are not uploaded to any server, and we cannot see them.
What we collect
No accounts and no advertising or tracking cookies. We count anonymous page views and anonymous usage events (for example "a fix finished" or "an export with 51–200 files was added"). We use Umami Cloud, a cookieless analytics service: its script loads from cloud.umami.is and sends the page address and title, the referring page, screen size and browser language to Umami, which also derives the browser, operating system, device type and country from the request. Umami says it does not use cookies, anonymizes the data and does not store personally identifiable information. These counts never include file names, dates, locations, image contents or personal identifiers.
Waitlist email (only if you submit it)
We collect your email address only if you type it into the “Paid plan coming soon — notify me” form. We then store that address, the date you signed up and which tool you were using (Snapchat or Google Takeout) in a database hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare D1). We use it only to send you one email when paid plans open — not for newsletters or advertising, and we do not share or sell it. That email will contain an unsubscribe link that deletes your address. You can also ask us to delete it at any time by writing to support@chou-xiang.com. To limit abuse, the form is rate-limited; we do not store your IP address for this.
Free allowance and license
To apply the free allowance, your browser keeps a list of which export files it has already fixed (their paths and sizes) in local storage on your device. A license key, once activated, is also stored only in your browser. When paid licenses launch, checking a key will send only the key itself to our license server — never your files.
Payments
Paid licenses are sold through Creem, which acts as the merchant of record. When you buy, you enter your email address and payment details on Creem's checkout, and Creem processes them under its own privacy policy. We receive what we need to deliver and support your license (such as your email address and the order), never your card details.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the website.
